It’s going to be a rough couple of days.  Heavy rain and cool temperatures are in the forecast for this afternoon through Thursday morning.  Lovely.  I just got in from running the dogs off the ATV.  It’s raining now, but not too hard.

The sick cat that I took home from Red’s is not a happy camper.  As I write this, he’s howling.  He hasn’t eaten, which may be a good thing as a fast may be enough to clear his upper respiratory infection.  Hopefully he’ll settle down in a few days.  I could just bring him back up there, but I don’t think he’ll survive for long.  He’s a cute cat, marked up like a Border Collie with double paws.  It’s sad to think about all the lovely cats like him who do not have homes.

I didn’t get my cheese mold cut last night so making hard cheese is going to get put off to early next week.  According to the recipe, the milk and starter has to sit overnight before you add the rennet so it’s a two day process just for the curds to form.

I should clean the house or maybe finish unpacking my winter work clothes and putting away summer clothes, but I don’t have a lot of ambition.

I should do a lot of things …

I’ve been thinking a lot about training my dogs and why I do it.  For a long time, I had no interest in training.  I don’t know why I’m doing it now.  Gel is trained well enough to get the job done.  With a little bit more work, Fern will be able to as well.  Doing the demos at Baa Moo were a rude awakening.  Gel can do what I need him to do here, but put him in a new place on less-than-cooperative sheep and his faults are glaringly obvious.  I suppose that’s the point of doing trials: so you can see where your holes are.  There are a few trials coming up in the next couple of months.  I might enter Gel. We’ll see.

Until later …
