We brought Gwen back up to stay with the bull to make sure that she’s bred so I’m traveling back and forth twice a day to milk her. He is not showing a whole lot of interest in her, which is a good thing. She’ll stay up there through Tuesday night and then about 20 days from Tuesday we can confirm pregnancy. Fingers, toes, etc. crossed.
I made a pact with Wally that he’d milk the goats while I went up to milk Gwen. When I pulled up after milking Gwen, Wally came out of the milk room and told me that he loved me, but that his body didn’t bend that way. Guess I’ll have to milk everyone.
I am so, so, so excited about going to the horse events today. It’s been a long time since I’ve done anything involving horses. It’s going to be a beautiful day. My camera is packed with the rest of my stuff so hopefully I’ll have some pictures to share. I’m really excited about the mini lesson I’m taking. As Wally said, this man has forgotten more than we know about horses. I’m also excited to see my friend Jenn again. I’ve missed her.
I quit Facebook this morning. Thanks to Rosemoon for posting this link. The writer states almost all of the reasons why I hate Facebook; I’d like to add that Facebook is a whole lot of meaningless yacking. I much prefer to maintain this journal. It’s so much more personal and gratifying. Yes, I find writing gratifying; some people may find my writing to be meaningless yacking, but that’s fine, they don’t have to read it.
Working at MM continues to go well. It’s a grind, but the managers continue to appreciate my work and ask for my input on a lot of things. At least I’m not so sore. Chronic pain sucks.
Well, I best go and make some breakfast and then we’ll need to load up the trailer and hit the road. Did I say how beautiful the day is going to be? It’s so nice to know that (1) I don’t have to go to work today, nor does Wally; and (2) that we can spend the day together doing something relatively enjoyable. Not that I mind all the chores that we do around here, but it’s nice to have a day where we can relax, visit and have fun.
Until later …
