I left work at about 5:20 and got down to the parking lot only to discover my car was gone! Prior to leaving, I noticed that I had not put my parking sticker on my rear view mirror for September so I knew pretty early on that they might have towed my car. I doubted anyone would have stole it. Sure enough, they did and by the time I got through to the towing company, it was too late for me to get there to pick it up.
I ran to a car rental company that was in town, luckily, not too far from parking lot and rented a car to get home. Luckily I got there before 6 when they closed. Otherwise, I don’t know how I’d get home.
Well, it seems I have three parking tickets on record! I have not seen any parking tickets attached to my car, of course I haven’t, I’d have either paid them or contested them. I drive with my windows down a lot and the parking ticket attaches to my rear view window and sometimes it blows around and possibly out of sight. A few months ago, I taped it to my mirror which prevented it from flopping around, but it didn’t help yesterday when it wasn’t there at all.
Darned. It’s going to cost me $307 to get my car out of hock. Crap!
Luckily, the firm I work for is kind enough to advance the $307 against future paychecks so I won’t have to pay it all at once.
If it’s not one thing, it’s another I suppose.
