The Semester is Almost Done!

I have enjoyed school, really I have, but it will be good to have a few weeks to focus on the farm.  I’ve done well, so far, I have all A’s which is what I was shooting for.

I found out last night that I am a finalist for the Shark Tank competition I entered!  That’s exciting.  I present my pitch again Tuesday evening.  Got some tweaks to do the presentation.  Glad I got final exams and projects all done early this week so I could focus on that.

Rabbits are being a bit difficult.  The wet spring has caused some illness in the younger rabbits; it is most likely coccidiosis.  I am treating them for it, but I need to remember next year to watch closely for symptoms and treat them earlier.  We had a similar incidence last year about this time.  It is less of a problem this year than it was next because I culled for rabbits that produced litters susceptible to this parasite.  It looks like I need to do more culling this year.  As has been the case all along, the Silver Fox rabbits are proving more hardy than the American Chinchillas.

It has been a very wet, cool spring.  Last Sunday, a photographer from Organic Gardening magazine was here getting photos for the future article.  It rained all day.  While his visit was special and very enjoyable, standing in the cold rain all day was miserable. Can’t wait to see the photographs!

Okay, I’m running late for getting chores done in time to get to school.  I have two more business classes to attend, then I am done!  It will be nice to be able to do chores at a more leisurely pace.  All of my summer classes are on-line so the plan is to do chores outside early, while it is still cool, then come in and work on school while it is too hot to be outside.  As of right now, I’m taking two art classes (one a photography class) and one accounting class.

Off to milk.

Until later …
