Got the chores done this morning, then took a shower and headed to town. It was once of those, “we are out of everything” times and I really needed to take a trip to the grocery store. I treated myself to lunch at a local salad bar before heading home. Now I’ve got to do math. Lovely.
I feel like I’m already so far behind on things. The garden needs to be weeded and I need to get some more beans in the ground. I’ve got two beds half planted and I need to put in another group of beans. I’m actually glad I did not plant the full beds because that would have been too many beans at once.
I wish it would rain some. It’s really dry.
We are getting closer to our goal of rotational grazing with the cattle. Currently, we have two milk cows, two bulls (one full grown, the other eight months old), two steers (about a year old) and Peaches (heifer calf) on the pasture. It’s already getting past prime, while the pasture on the opposite side (not fenced) looks great. We need to get out there and walk it off to see how much fence we’ll need to cross fence it. Soon …
Jack, the new Border Collie is doing stellar! I really, really like him. He slept loose last night and spent the night beside the bed on my side. I had to be careful I did not step on him when I got up in the middle of the night. He’s bonded to be big time. He still barks and acts afraid of Wally when he first gets home from work or at any time when he’s standing. He has a fear of tall men. He’ll get over it.
He worked a pair of ducks for a few minutes today. They kept splitting up on him and really I need to put him on a bigger group, but what I saw, I liked.
Okay, math time.
Until later …
