Lessons Learned, the Hard Way

We lost three of the puppies yesterday. I left both Midge (and the puppies) and Gel inside with the A/C on. Apparently we lost power for a few hours. My neighbor, who let the dogs out around lunch time, found four puppies under the sheets, one, a small female, was alive, the other three were dead. It was likely a combination of the heat and suffocation that killed them. Puppies at this age cannot regulate their body temperature. I feel terrible that it might have been due to my ignorance that they died. I guess everything happens for a reason. The sheets are now clamped to the sides of the kiddy pool so they can’t get under them. They are incredibly active for only being two days old. They wiggle around the pool like worms.
